This small puppy named Osito recently found himself alone in the world. His family had decided that he was no longer wanted.
But, happily, Osito didn’t have to be alone for to long.
Felicia Quispe Arana decided to take Osito in after learning of his predicament. Arana is the founder of Colitas Sin Techo, a homeless dog sanctuary in Cusco, Peru. She wasn’t sure how the other inhabitants would react to Osito at first.
“At our shelter, there are no puppies. “They’re all enormous dogs, and the majority of them are adults,” Arana told The Dodo. “I wasn’t sure how they’d react when they met Osito.”
The puppy, who had been scared in the new environment at first, was greeted with such sweetness that it made all the difference.
“At first, the sight of so many enormous dogs terrified Osito,” Arana remarked. “[After meeting the other dogs], he felt so comfortable and confidently wandered around.”
The lonely puppy made a lot of new friends quite soon. But it wasn’t long before he obtained something much more important.
Osito quickly found a place to call his own.
“We were able to locate someone who ended up adopting him,” Arana explained. “Now that he has a family, I wish him a long and happy life.”
With any luck, the puppy’s new pals from the shelter will find the same happiness.
